[googlefont="Kranky:400;"] tagged open words 556 notes open to anyone wanting to join, not sure where this'll go though | Annie heaved her backpack over her shoulder and bit her lip gently. She hadn't expected it to be such a trek to find somewhere in the Enchanted Forest that would be scenic enough to get some good shots for her portfolio. It was her only day off of the week from her job waiting tables, and, as if she weren't drained enough, Annie Jo had decided that this would be a great day to try and pad out the nonexistent modeling portfolio that was sitting at home on her dresser. The only photographs that she had in there were all mediocre. She wasn't sure if it was the camera messing up or the photographer not being the best, but they were all blurry and unimpressive to any client that could even consider booking her. A portfolio was important in this business, but getting pictures for it wasn't always easy. Taking a deep breath, Annie continued her trek.
Her feet were killing her too. Wearing heels was a great idea for the photos - lengthening the legs and adding a couple inches to her already towering height. However, any smart girl would've probably packed their heels and wore something a bit more sensible to do the traveling part. Annie huffed to herself, "Smart girl, Annie Jo. Such a bright young woman." The blonde knew she had put way too much on her plate today, but she had already made the commitment to go this far into the forest, so she might as well tough it out now.
Between some of the trees, her eye was caught by a large stone. Excitement bubbled in her belly. Finally, something other than a tree! Possibilities of poses were running through her head before she even made in through the brush. Who else would have a photo like this in their portfolio? It seemed exotic and different. The perfect thing to catch a client's eye. Plus, Annie didn't want to have to compete for the spotlight with beautiful scenery in her photo. If she wasn't more exciting than a rock then there were a couple other issues she needed to probably address. The young woman trudged forward until the entirety of the stone landmark was visible. She smiled to herself brightly. Perfect.
Trying to be quick, she swung her backpack off her shoulder and started to pull her equipment out. Her camera wasn't the best quality - a birthday gift from years ago - but it would get the job done. If she couldn't book a job, all she could do for her portfolio was take her own photos. It was something she had learned to do when she couldn't find anyone to be her photographer. She'd simply set a timer, head to her spot, pose, and then come back to the camera to analyze her work. From there, she could change things that didn't look good. In past experiences, these photo shoots took a lot of time and getting a handful of good photos out of it was usually a blessing.
Annie sat down on the ground gingerly, crossed her legs, and started to fiddle with the camera's brightness settings, taking a couple test shots. Her blonde hair cascaded over her face as she flicked through her photos. She was so lost in thought that the world around her faded into the background. |
