He’s remained a tall and slender man who dresses the part of a showman at most times. Normally in a suit with his top hat and cane. At the very least just a suit. Facilier can go from a friendly and welcoming smile to a sadistic one in an instant based on the situation yet in most cases it’s either one or the other. Personality Facilier is a showman above all else, he’s the smooth fast talker he was in his past life just without the magic. A charismatic and smart individual that loves to manipulate any situation that could better serve his agenda. Facilier doesn’t have any memories of his past but he’s retained the same hunger for money and power that he had before. He’s just unsure where these desires have come from. Yet he doesn’t question it much. He’s too focused on his goals of owning more than just the little stretch of bayou that he does. He’d love nothing more than to be free of this swamp but his life just seems to keep him there with no idea why. There is a rare side to him that has some compassion in him. It’s not so simple as someone being in hard times, the person needs to be like how he sees himself. The people who have been looked down upon, the poor or people being stepped on by others. Those are who he considers his people, he has no memories of ever being one of those but he feels a connection with them. both Living and trying to make a living in the bayou might be part of the reason but he knows there is more to it than just that. To these people or someone he feels he can relate to or use he’s a genuine friend. History Dr. Facilier grew up in a poor household in New Orleans, barely any food for anyone to get by on. He grew to both hate and envy the people who were rich and treated him with disrespect due to his poor upbringings. What right did these people have to look down on him. He swore to take whatever he could from this world and those rich people who wronged him. To one day become better than all of them with enough power to run this whole town. In his teenage years he found his way into the dark arts of voodoo forming a contract with a group of evil Loa (spirits) in return for the use of dark magic he would offer them the souls of others. If he couldn’t come through on his part of the deal they would take his own soul. A risk he was willing to take for the power he needed to change his fate. Even with the power of the dark arts Facilier didn’t get very far in life. He ran a shop selling the odd voodoo items and reading the fortunes of others though tarot cards. One fateful day a rich prince came into town. Dr. Facilier hatched an evil plan to steal his money and take over all of new Orleans by turning him into a frog and using his own servant to replace him. For all his manipulation and dark voodoo magic his plan failed, he lost his chance and ran out of time on the deal with the dark spirits he owed. The loa spirits dragged Dr. Facilier off into their world for all eternity. At least that's how it was going to be till all the storybook worlds were changed by the magic of the enchantress and Prince Charming. Facilier was ripped from his terrible fate to live a new life, with no memories of who he used to be. Instead he woke up just outside the bayou and while he lost his memories he still had all the desires for money and power that he always had. This time he’s on his own with no help from the voodoo spirits and if he could remember his ordeal he would probably be thankful for that. While being the Doctor of nothing he still calls himself Dr. Facilier, it’s more a title than a job description. He has no idea why he started calling himself that but he feels at home using it. He now seeks to gain as much wealth as possible from his new business, a gambling house run out of a steam boat out in the bayou.
