Meredith locked up her pawn shop and headed down the street toward the general store. She was out of food and really wasn't in the mood to go home at the moment. She wanted interaction with real people. Hardly anyone came into her shop today, so she decided that maybe the store was a good place to find at least one person to talk to. At least, that's what she thought until she got there. Walking through the aisles, Meredith was having a hard time finding anyone to talk to. Really? What was going on today? She made her way to the food section, deciding she'd just find something delicious and enjoy it once she got home. As she was passing the freezer section, she saw another girl standing there and smiled. Well, maybe this would be a bit awkward, but she honestly didn't care. She just wanted some human interaction. She walked up to the girl and made a face as she gestured to the food in front of her. "Have you tried any of this food before? I'm trying to decide if it's worth giving a shot or not." Yeah, sure. Elsa wasn't really a fan of going shopping. She always felt like food should just BE there already in her home... which she realized was a crazy way of thinking. But somehow it just made sense to her that food would just readily appear. So, she was having a hard time adjusting to cooking food. Not that she knew that she used to not cook herself... but it still felt strange. So, she went to the grocers and immediately found herself drawn to the freezer section. She liked the way the cold air blasted at her when she opened the coolers. Someone spoke to her, though, and Elsa turned to them, a little surprised. She wasn't much for immediately talking to strangers and she was always impressed with others bravery in doing so. "Honestly, I haven't tried much of this stuff yet... I suppose it's probably easier to prepare, being mostly pre-made?" she guessed. Pre-made sounded nice. Meredith Anne Groff |

The blonde was obviously surprised that Meredith was talking to them, but she didn't care. She wanted that human conversation and she was getting it now. She nodded at the girl's words. "That's true. I've never really been one for cooking things from scratch ... except I do have a really good recipe for Hazelnut soup. Other than that, I kind of feel like I'm lost in the kitchen." She shrugged. "Do you have any other suggestions of things that are mostly pre-made?" Honestly, Meredith wouldn't know where to search for such things. She really felt as though she hadn't been in a store like this ever before a few weeks ago, though she knew she had. She'd been living on this island for how long now? The woman said that she wasn't really one for cooking things from scratch, to which Elsa nodded. Hazelnut soup sounded delicious though. "Same here. I mean, aside from the Hazelnut soup part. I don't have any recipes I'm comfortable with," she admitted. "I think that frozen fruit would be good for making things, that's where i'm headed," she suggested. "I'm Elsa, by the way," she added. She thought it may be rude not to introduce herself if they were going to be conversing further and sort of shopping together? "I feel like I'm all new to this living on my own thing..." she also admitted. Maybe that was too much information, but the woman was easy to talk to. Meredith Anne Groff |

Meredith nodded, smiling when the woman suggested frozen fruit. That definitely sounded like a good idea! "Oooh, I might just tag along with you," she answered. When the woman introduced herself as Elsa, Meredith smiled. "I'm Meredith. Glad to have met someone who's cooking skills are comparable to mine," she added with a chuckle. Meredith nodded again, "Yes, living alone is harder for me than I expected too. I've thought of finding roommates, but I'm not quite sure I want any." She liked having her own space, where she could come up with plans and do whatever she wanted. But being social could be a good thing as well ... it all depended. ELSA ISABELLE DRONNING |
