LILYA IRIE MÜLLER FEMALE TWENTY-THREE TANGLED PRINCESS RAPUNZEL LILY JAMES RISSY | Appearance
Originally Rapunzel was known for her long golden locks, that would glow when she sang a certain song, and bright green eyes that seemed to captivate anyone that looked within them. However, when Flynn cut her hair to save her from her "mother" and give her a better life, it slowly turned brunette and was a pixie cut. Really the only thing that is different about her in her new life, as Lilya, is her eye color which had turned from the green to a dark brown color, probably to associate with the fact that her hair went from blonde to brunette within seconds. She still has a rather slender apperance and small waist size, her skin isn't as fair as it once was, probably because she wasn't trapped within a tower her entire life. Her freckles have also disappeared a bit, but there are certain moments when they are still visible, especially when her cheeks turn rosy. Lilya, much like before, likes to stick to purples and pinks, though there are times when she sports something else. She enjoys walking barefoot though, which is much like her old self, and refuses to wear heels in place of her flats. While her hair has grown longer, she still keeps it quite short, and sticks to styling it in different ways. She is also known to still favor corsets, which many believe is quite weird.
Personality
Not much has changed in her personality during the transition from her past into the life on Cinder Isles. Lilya is still quite energetic, vivacious, and compassionate towards others. She is still seen as adventurous of sorts and very curious in everything. She can still be quite innocent and naïve, but she has somewhat grown out of that stage of her life. She is very clumsy, but that doesn’t stop her free-spirited and bubbly self from doing what she wants to do. She is very artistic and creative, her imagination running wild because of her bookish and dreamy nature. She is very selfless and conscientious, as well as very brave. Some would say she is still quite jumpy in this day and age, mostly because there are still nightmares that play from her past that scare her because she doesn’t understand them. Lilya, which differs from her past, is very mature for her age and very protective of those around her.
All of her life, Rapunzel was a spirited and determined young woman that dreamt of escaping her tower to experience the outside world. And because of this, Lilya is quite fearful of being trapped anywhere, not being allowed to leave. Small spaces creep her out. She also has turned against many parental figures, due to her past with Gothel, and is somewhat cautious in her friend-making, though she is quite bubbly. Lilya still holds onto the old manipulative and emotional abuse, as well as praying on her emotional instability, that she felt when being brought up by Gothel and sometimes is seen having anxiety or panic attacks because of it. But Lilya still has hopes and dreams that she prays to accomplish and doesn’t let anything stand in her way. Lilya, much like her old self, has very extreme adaptability, allowing her to adapt to her environment within a few seconds, even when she has never experienced it before.
History
Rapunzel was born the daughter of King Frederic and Queen Arianna of Corona, making her the crown princess. The King and Queen were overjoyed with the idea of giving birth to their firstborn. However, this became hard on the queen. Arianna became ill very late in her pregnancy, and because of this, the outcome was grim for both mother and child. Fearful of losing both his love and his unborn child, the King went in search of a rumored magical flower that was created by a single drop of sunlight, a flower that was hoarded by a horrible witch named, Mother Gothel, who used its power to keep her young and beautiful. However, the witch revealed her flower by accident, allowing the villages and soldiers to return it to his king and heal the Queen. A medicine was boiled and not long after, gave birth to a healthy baby girl with golden locks, ones that different from her parents, and thus, named her Rapunzel.
The celebration for the child’s birth with a floating lantern with the sun on it was the last thing she would be able to do with her parents. For as they slept, Mother Gothel learned that her hair was the key and an attempt to get the power back, cut the young babe’s hair. But her hair lost its magic when removed from her head, and in desperation, Gothel kidnapped the young princess and stole her away from her parents for the next eighteen years. To protect her flower, a nickname that she gave Rapunzel to get away with using her hair’s magic, kept her locked within a tower deep in the woods. She raised the princess as her daughter and taught her to sing the flower’s song, and to make sure that no one knew of where the princess was and to keep the flower close, lied to the young girl about the outside world, wanting to steal and abuse her power. Unknown to the young Rapunzel, her true parents and people of her home, searched for her to no avail, but continued to set the lanterns into the sky on her birthday, something that the young princess picked up on – it was a sign of hope that the people had for the return of the lost princess and it was a beacon for herself to one day free herself from her “prison.”
A few years later, while alone in her tower, Rapunzel saves a baby chameleon from a venomous snake, bringing the creature back from the dead and hitting the deadly creature with her pan and sending it to its grave. The baby chameleon, in which she named “Pascal” realize they are one in the same, both alone in the world, and to remedy their mutual loneliness, becomes best friends and remain at each other’s side from that night forward.
Rapunzel remains in the “care” of Mother Gothel, having never cut her hair once since she was a child and results in being a young eighteen-year-old girl with over seventy feet of hair. She is left to her tower where she sings, plays with her best friend, paints on the walls where she can find it, and even reads the same books over and over again. On top of that, she cleans the entire tower and brushes her long hair from the ceiling to help her. But what she wants most for her birthday, is to see the lights that dance in the sky each year, something she had become fascinated with as a young child. However, the moment she gains the courage to ask her mother for the one thing she wants, to see the lights in person, her mother manipulated her. And because of this, Rapunzel gives in to never ask, to never leave her home or her mother and instead asks for the paints that she loves. Of course, her mother would have to leave for a long while to obtain such a treat, but Rapunzel wants that most in the world – albeit second to freedom.
After her mother leaves for her adventure, Rapunzel’s entire life is turned upside down as a thief by the name of Flynn Rider comes into her life. Of course, her life doesn’t change until after she hits him with a pan. But after that, in return for what is in his bag, he must take her to see the lights in the sky. Thus, their adventure began. Almost drowning in a cave, running from bad guys, making new friends with “villains” in a pub, healing him with her magic hair, finally seeing the lights in person after a beautiful day in the bustling town of Corona. But hardship faces them when they realize their romantic feelings for them; Rapunzel is “betrayed” by Flynn and brought back home by her mother. Thus, this is where she learns the truth – that she is the missing Princess of Corona and that she had been lied to all her life. In fear of losing her flower and beauty, Mother Gothel restrained and wanted to take her away. Though, using Rapunzel’s hair against her when Flynn came looking, resulted in his death. Rapunzel fought and struggled and finally a deal was struck, she would go with Gothel willingly with no complaint, as long as she was allowed to save Flynn – of course, the woman agreed.
However, before she could sing her song and save the man she loved, he told her the one thing she wanted to hear – that she was his new dream – right before slicing her hair clean off. Slowly the long locks turned brunette, Mother Gothel was reduced to ash, and Flynn was dead. But something changed, as she began to cry over the man that she deemed worthy of her heart, her tears began to heal them. As she pulled back from him, she watched as a golden light came from his wound and then his eyes slowly opened. They were together, and together they returned to the castle where Rapunzel was reunited with her mother and father, and they welcomed the ex-thief with open arms. Heck, they welcomed her friends from the pub with open arms as well, allowing one to play piano at the celebration that lasted days.
Rapunzel was home, and she was together with Flynn, a person she began to court from that time forward. Sure, he still had his thieving ways and enjoyed stealing her crown from her head when she wasn’t looking, but they were happy. So happy that Rapunzel questioned if he would ask for her hand in marriage, but that idea instantly turned sour. Pitch Black, a darkness that took over the land, had plagued Corona and Flynn became a spy to take him down.
Next thing she knew, she woke up on Cinder Isle with no memory of the past. She had a new life now, as Lilya, but she knew something was off. With her magical hair gone, her memories lost in the past, Lilya moved on with her life. With her artistic abilities, she became a teacher at the local school, an art teacher at that, but she knew something was missing. Sometimes when she looked outside her window at the sea, she saw lights. Was it a dream? A forgot memory? She didn’t know, but her curiosity grew with each passing day.
