Howell Pendragon Jenkins Male 32 Howl’s Moving Castle Howl Jamie Dornan Colin Appearance Once flamboyantly adorned in colorful cloaks and with an arrangement of ever-changing hair colors, the immaculate, long-haired, pretty boy wizard is no more. With the loss of his memory came a change in his physical appearance; aged, by half a decade at the least, his adored hair darkened and chopped off, replaced by a scruffy beard that would make a lumberjack proud. Both his personal and work attire consist strictly of business casual. When working the bar, his sleeves are always rolled up to his elbows, showing a flashy silver watch on his left wrist, and forearms that would put aforementioned lumberjacks to shame. Lugging kegs around all day has a way of getting one in shape. Personality Howell is quite the charmer, though only to those that are paying customers (or have the prospect of being one). As with his change in appearance, his outward personality has suffered quite a bit. He’s become jaded, tired, and scrapes through from one day to the next. Although he doesn’t remember his days of being a wizard in another plane of existence, he often feels like there was a time where running his tavern was much easier. The good old days. He can get irritated rather quickly if things are out of order behind the bar, and while it looks like it’s a mess, everything is in a spot for a reason. Max efficiency is his goal as a business owner and bartender. Keeping the customers happy and paying meant he would be the exact same way after counting the day’s earnings. One thing he has kept is his status as a bachelor. Don’t be fooled though, Howell still has a way of wooing the women, though now he plays with different tricks and cards than he used to. While his formidable years are foggy, he knows where he has faltered in the past (or at least thinks he has), and is always working on ways to fix and correct those mistakes. Compromising his personal and professional interests is not what he’s interested in, so he’s much more tactile with both, instead of running around blasting magic around or walking through the air. He has found easier methods than being a show off. History Before, The Moving Castle: A deal with a devil, or fire demon, rather. Howell Jenkins, also known as Wizard Jenkins and Howl Pendragon (depending on where you are, and whom you’re asking), was in a class of his own. Hailed as a supreme wizard across the land and one of the personal wizards to the king of Kingsbury, it simply wasn’t enough for the young lad. His interests lay elsewhere, deciding that a life of solitude in his patchwork moving castle had more to it than being just another magic wielder under the grasp of military might. The breakout of the war left him playing roles on both sides, being the indecisive young fool that he was. His reputation became even more notorious as he started making public appearances, rumors spread that he was actively looking for beautiful girls to steal their hearts, making up for the one taken from him. A run in with a stubborn girl, cursed to appear old by a nemesis of his, made Howl realize exactly where he was going wrong in life. Not to mention that he was in possession of the prince that had started the war in the first place. It was almost comical how things turned out in the end. Now: Howell Pendragon Jenkins. Tavern proprietor and businessman. He spends his days running his bar, the Porthaven Pub, named after a town he no longer remembers. The great magic he once possessed is gone, and so is his lovely blonde hair. Not like he remembers that either. All he knows is that when business is going well, he makes money, and money makes him happy. Just like he did as a wizard, playing both sides of the grand game is one of his side gigs. Keeping the public happy with beer and food, and the underground scene running out of a back room, everyone gets what they want when they’re in his establishment. Outside of work, he’s fond of strolling through streets and interacting with the other townsfolk, making sure to never lose his charming edge that has served him well in both parts of his life.
